Catlady (or should that be Catwoman! Oh now that sounds better) !

Some of you have met them, I have two adorable cats living in my house. A friend’s cat has just had a litter of kittens and she wants me to have one.

I’d love to, but the only thing is I do not want to turn into one of those mad old cat ladies that have a house full of cats!! You walk in and the house stinks of cat, and every available surface is taken up by a curled up ball of fluff. Do you know what I mean, wouldn’t be good and I definitely don’t want to get that way lol.

Years ago I went to a Cats Protection League fete and entered the raffle. They called me to say I’d won a Christmas cake so had to go back to the CPL lady’s house to collect it. I walked into the kitchen and literally everywhere you could see was a cat. She was searching everywhere for this cake, and then found it, in a cardboard box complete with cat sat on top of said cake! I just took it, said thank you, and cake went straight in the bin. Not that I’m ungrateful but it wasn’t even covered and the snowy effect icing was now covered in cat hair and black bits!! I know the CPL do a great job, so not having a go, just didn’t want cat hair cake lol!

Don’t get me wrong, I do love cats but I think two is plenty enough. I definitely don’t want to be the mad old catlady, but Catwoman, well that is another thing entirely! I wouldn’t mind being Catwoman and have worn a very similar outfit to her on more than one occasion in the past ;)

A shame I didn’t get to meet them when I met you this week – but next time hopefully. It’s definitely better to have two kittens – better for them and so much more fun for you! As regards the risk of turning into Catwoman (or in my case Catman) – it can be avoided….since my (then) wife and I got our first kittens in 1980, a total of 21 have passed through the catflap (all of them rescues to a greater or lesser extent) and never more than 4 at a time. But it sure is hard to turn away a deserving case!
