Normal service will resume shortly!

Well I have to apologise for the lack of posts, and lack of everything else lately. I haven’t been around much, I hope you’ve been missing me.

I’ve had lots going on in my personal life of late so work has taken a bit of a back seat to be honest. It’s nice to be able to do that when you work for yourself, although of course we all need to work I just can’t take endless time off. So as from the end of this week it will be back to business as normal, yes normal service will resume shortly. Do I here a cheer?? Lol! Well be it for the time being anyhow.

Take care,

Hilarious sights

Well maybe it’s the time of year when the festivities send everybody a bit silly, but I have seen some rather hilarious sights around my little town in the past week. the merriment has certainly gone to people’s heads that is for sure.

I was driving up to a mini roundabout (one of MANY in our town!) when I saw hurtling along the pavement in what seemed to be a total panic, arms waving madly, look of sheer terror set on his face, was a man on a unicycle! Not everyday you see a unicycle used as a mode of transport, especially by somebody that looked like he’d never ridden one before! The poor bloke was going down hill rather fast and looked like he didn’t have the knack of steering that darn thing either. He stayed on but only just as he careered arpund the corner and shot up the kerb. Quite a sight I tell you. I think he must have had the unicycle as a Christmas present, maybe from the mother in law or unimpressed wife!

One of the other sights that I had to take a second look at, as I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, I was walking along the highstreet when I saw a chap pushing one of those shopping carts that old ladies have. Fair enough, except the guy (who had a full beard and was only in his late 30’s early 40’s) was wearing a fleece jumper and lovely yellow skirt with white trainers. I mean maybe there was an actual explanation for this and I’m not taking the mick, but again it was a very strange sight indeed! Although not as strange as the sight I saw a few years ago when sitting in the beer garden of a lovely rural pub. A guy rode by on a bicycle wearing a lovely yellow polka dot summer dress! Takes all sorts.

Until next time, take care.

Big hello to 2009!

Happy New Year to everybody. I hope you all had a fantastic New Year’s Eve whatever you were up to  I am hoping that 2009 will be a good one, but I think we will all have to make the best of things due to the current economic climate, although that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy ourselves and have fun!

I don’t make New Years resolutions, but if you do I hope you can stick to them lol. I don’t have any big plans at the moment for 2009, although I am hoping to do a tour in London at some point. Although no firm plans as yet. My main reason for a London tour is to mix business with pleasure, although I should imagine it’ll be mainly pleasure with a little time for fun with a gent or two. I am a huge Phantom of the Opera fan, so thought it was about time I got up to the West End to see it again. I will keep you all posted.

Hope 2009 is s good one for all of you.

Take care,

Not as good a Christmas as I’d hoped

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet over the festive period.

Well there was all the hype, the excitement at the thought of Santa coming down my chimney, then I was hit by the dreaded norovirus. Not nice at all, and sort of ruined Christmas although tried to make the best of a bad situation lol. Still not back to 100%, but feeling an awful lot better.

Here’s to hoping the New Year will go well, without any viruses or bugs of any kind. Wishing you all a Happy New Year!! Looking forward to a great 2009!

Are you ready??

Only one week to go until the big day and I must say I’m excited! Yes I’m such a big kid, I love Christmas! Being as this is my second Christmas related post, you have probably gathered that.

Well I’m all ready and waiting for Santa to fill my stockings (unless you want to in the mean time of course!). I put my tree up late this year, but it is all now done and looking pretty. I just wish I had outdoor lights, they are lovely as long as they are not too OTT of course. Will have to get some next year me thinks. Shopping is all done and presents are all wrapped, most also delivered to people I won’t see on Christmas Day. Not much else to do, apart from sit back and enjoy the festivities. I have been singing Christmas songs for the past week or so, and just can’t stop singing or humming them which I’m sure is more than slightly irritating to those in earshot lol.

Well I hope you are all prepared, or is it more like the last minute rush?? Or worse are you a bah humbug kind of person (shame on you if you are!). But whatever you are doing I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Take care,

Christmas shopping!

Well it’s just about all done, I’ve been wrapping as I go too, so only a few more things to get and wrap! I love Christmas shopping, I know it fills some people with dread. But I just love to buy things for other people. I like to put lots of thought into it and get them something special. I also love to wrap gifts! I like to add bows and curly ribbon and make them look all pretty. I get rather sad when they are all done, does anybody need a present wrapper??? I’d be quite happy to help lol!

There is nothing better than a Christmas tree surrounded by pretty parcels, although I am still missing a tree. Although I did hang my stockings on the fire place today (and no, I don’t mean the black silky seamed ones!!).

Thank you Mr.Darling

I would just like to thank our wonderful Mr.Darling for the extremely useful 11 pence that I saved on my shopping today after the wonderful VAT cut. I was beaming with excitement at saving so much money and I am still deciding what to spend it on!

I really don’t see what difference the 2.5% cut is going to make at all, especially as the price of EVERYTHING is continuing to rise anyway!!! What a good idea.

I’m in need of ice cream!

Yes it is needed, I have a sore throat, uh oh not good I fear I’m coming down with the dreaded lurgy that has been going around friends and family. I really hope not, as I hate being poorly. I’m not too good at it, it annoys me when I’m ill, I get frustrated and I seem to have an inability to relax and rest. Plus of course if I get poorly I can’t see my gentlemen!

My dear friend has popped out to get me ice cream and should be back very shortly for it. No it is not an excuse, I really do have a sore throat! I’ll eat my ice cream, take a couple of pills and be off to bed. Fingers crossed all is well again in the morning!

Have I missed something?

Well you know “they” (whoever they may be) come up with these special National days to celebrate/commemorate/or for awareness. Well I’m sure I missed a really important one today. I think it was ‘National No Signals Day’, and I can’t believe I didn’t know.

I went out this afternoon on a 15 minute journey. The majority of drivers I came across at roundabouts, junctions and on the dual carriageway, seemed to have forgotten how to use their indicators. I mean you usually come across one or two that don’t, but I couldn’t believe just how many weren’t in that relatively short journey. I was getting a bit of road rage I must say!

But then I figured It must be ‘National No Signals Day’ and I must’ve been the one looking stupid actually using my indicators. See, if I’d known earlier one I wouldn’t have looked silly, and two I would have been able to excuse those drivers and not got road rage.

They should announce these special days on the news and in the papers so we all know!

Smile!

Don’t you hate it when you are in the supermarket and you damn well know there is something else you need, but can’t for the life of you remember what it is?

Well after getting home with my shopping, I finally realised the thing I desperately needed (after squeezing all life out of it this morning) was toothpaste! So down I popped to my ‘local’ corner shop, a mini version of the supermarket I was at earlier in the day. I hate having to go there as I find the limited choice and high prices just totally unbearable, but with my bad memory it becomes a bit of a must at times.

So in I go, locate the toothpaste and find an excellent choice of THREE!! I pick one that costs over £2, not too bad I thought. That is until this evening when I went to use it. I hadn’t realised until I took the tube out of the box just how small it was! It was like one of those mini travel size tubes, I mean I’m not off on holiday, grrr!! What a total rip off, but at least it’ll do until I actually remember to buy it at the supermarket next time!
